We've been getting a lot of questions about why our tea doesn't come in bags.
If you're looking for a simple answer, well...tea bags are limiting and limits are counterintuitive to everything we believe in! We've all been brought up with tea bags, sipping hot tea out of cups on saucers, but who says those are the only ways?
We believe in pushing the boundaries, breaking the cups and absorbing it all.
All teas contain different health benefits.
Green tea for example is full of antioxidants and catechins. Catechins are best consumed when the whole leaf is intact. Bagged teas contain a lot of leaf fragments, dust and fannings from the tea being crushed. Steeping loose leaf tea allows room for the tea leaves to expand and water to be absorbed by each leaf as they infuse. This increases the opportunity for vitamins, minerals and flavor to be extracted.
If you're interested in getting even closer to the goodness in tea, actually eating the leaves gets you straight to the good stuff! We love eating leaves and are always interested in ways we can use our teas in food, drinks and other products that weave tea into our lives on a daily basis.
There are some who dislike loose leaf tea based on the fact that they think it takes longer. In reality, it takes maybe two minutes longer to pour the tea into a bag, tea ball or infuser and the reward is SO much more. Do yourself a favor and take those extra minutes to give yourself the very best experience. Not just when it comes to tea, but in everything you do. What if we all added one minute to everything we do so that we could be more present and actually be in the moment?
